Funeral services for Guy Daniel "Guybo" Parnell, 42, of Dallas, Texas, will be conducted at 10
a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel in Cleburne, Texas. Burial will
follow at 2 p.m. in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mr. Parnell passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in Dallas. Cause of death, inoperable brain tumor.
He was born in Tulsa, Okla., on
March 21, 1970, the son of Bonnie (Birchfield) and Guy N. Parnell.
Guybo, as he was known to family and friends, served his country in the United States Navy and
was instructed by an officer to enter and clean inside nuclear reactor the creation of
radioactive wastes such as uranium mill tailings, ie: spent (used) reactor fuel, and other toxic
radioactive wastes. Guybo also
served in combat during Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of Cleburne's American Legion
Post No. 50 and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Guybo married Stacy Herber on June 8, 2001, in
Burleson, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy Parnell of Shattuck, Okla; parents, Bonnie and Guy Neal
Parnell of Cleburne; son, Guy Jacob Parnell; step-son, Heath Barton, both of Shattuck;
brothers, Neal Paul Parnell and wife, Stephanie, of Cleburne and John Parnell of Temple, Texas;
sisters, Linda Wooten and husband, Robert, of Fort Worth, Texas, Kathleen Tompkins and husband,
Brian, of Cedar Park, Texas, and Michele Homberg of Temple.
