Things promoting removal of Christ from society today!

Sam's Club replaces 'Christmas' with 'Holidays'

Even though it is August, the Christmas advertising season has already begun and Sam's Club has come down on the side of "Holidays" instead of "Christmas."

In the August/September issue of their in-house magazine Source, Sam's Club has one page dedicated to Christmas. But Sam's Club doesn't refer to Christmas as being Christmas. Sam's Club promotes it as "Holidays."

On page 69 of Source, the promotional plug says: "Coming soon. Plan ahead for the holidays." On the page decorated in Christmas fashion are three products. Sam's Club wants you to buy "Holiday Cards," "Holiday Ribbon," and "Holiday Gift Bags."

On June 26, AFA wrote Wal-Mart (which owns Sam's Club) asking that they not ban "Christmas" in advertising and promotions. Included in that letter was a CD with the names of 201,595 individuals who signed the petition asking for no ban. Wal-Mart, ignoring the letter, did not even bother to respond.

Don't let the anti-Christmas crowd kick Christ out of Christmas this year

Companies are now working on their Christmas promotions. Let them hear from you today.

June is not the time when we think of Christmas. But June is the time when retailers begin making their plans for Christmas promotions — store banners, newspaper ads, TV commercials, etc.

Remember last Christmas when many national retailers banned the use of Merry Christmas and allowed only the use of Season's Greetings or Happy Holidays or even winter holidays? Remember how some stores did not allow their employees to say "Merry Christmas" to their customers? Remember how Christmas trees were called Holiday trees?

There are companies which don't want to offend a small handful of their customers by mentioning Christmas because Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ. However, they don't mind offending Christians by refusing to use the term Christmas.

We could be headed for another year when similar incidents occur, unless we let companies know right now that we will not accept the banning of Christmas in their promotions.

Now is the time to let the retailers know that if they ban the use of the term Christmas, you will not be shopping with them during the Christmas season!

TAKE ACTION

Send a message to the nation's largest retailers. Your message will also go to the National Association of Advertisers which most major advertisers are members of.

Please help us secure one million signatures by forwarding this to friends and family. We will not be able to secure the one million signatures without your support. So please forward this message. It will be too late once the companies already have their plans made and material printed. Let them hear from you today!

Help Save the Cross! Take a Stand Against Liberal Activist Judges
From Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association
-5/6/2006-

A liberal activist judge has ordered the city of San Diego to remove a cross from Mt. Soledad or be fined $5000 a day. Judge Gordon Thompson, Jr., ordered the cross removed because, he said, it violated the separation of church and state. One atheist had complained about the cross in a battle that has been going on for years.

For over 50 years the site has been recognized by the public as a place where war veterans are recognized for their service to America. Most of the veterans recognized are from the greater San Diego area. Last summer 76 percent of the city's voters (197,000) approved keeping the cross.

All the legal steps for the city to turn over the property to the National Park Service have been approved. All that is needed now is an executive order signed by President Bush. If President Bush fails to sign an executive order, the $5000 a day fine against the city will go into effect in 90 days.

TAKE ACTION:

Help save the cross! Please send an email to President Bush asking him to sign the executive order transferring the property to the federal government, thus taking the case out of Judge Thompson's hands. If Judge Thompson's order stands, it could eventually mean the removal of every cross in every state and federal cemetery. Please forward this to family and friends.

A State Legislature Passes Sweeping Abortion Ban
From Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association
-2/28/2006-

Help us get 1,000,000 Names on the Petition to Governor Rounds!

A bill that would ban nearly all abortions in South Dakota and spark a challenge to the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision is heading to Governor Mike Rounds for his signature. Planned Parenthood, which operates the only clinic performing abortions in South Dakota, has pledged to challenge the measure in court if Gov. Rounds signs it into law.

Gov. Rounds' signature would mark the first time since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationwide that a state legislature has passed such a sweeping ban. The bill, known as H.B. 1215, makes abortion illegal except to save the life of the mother.

The bill was sponsored in the House by Rep. Roger Hunt, a Republican, and in the Senate by Sen. Julie Bartling, a Democrat. The bill states that "life begins at the time of conception ..." and that "under the Constitution of South Dakota, a pregnant mother and her unborn child ...each possess a natural and inalienable right to life."

The legislators went through the proper legislative channels to pass the law, and did not depend on an activist judge to make law like the pro-abortion supporters do.

Urgent Action Needed!
It is important that Gov. Rounds hears from pro-life Christians all across America. Please read and sign the urgent petition to South Dakota Governor Rounds. The petition includes a 'thank you' to the South Dakota House and Senate sponsors of the pro-life legislation.

Please forward this important alert to family and friends. More than 47 million abortions have been performed in the 33 years since the Roe v. Wade decision and this could signal new hope for the unborn child.

Progressive Insurance Chairman Gives $8.5 Million To ACLU
From Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association

Gift supports ACLU in their War on Christmas
In one of his recent columns, Chuck Colson relates the following story.

In a Texas classroom, children were told to draw a tracing of their foot, and then put a message on the drawing. One little girl wrote "Jesus Loves Me" on hers. What happened next shows the abysmal state of religious tolerance in America.

As Fox news anchor John Gibson relates in his new book, The War on Christmas, the child's teacher ripped the tracing off the board. "Don't you ever do this again," she said. The little girl burst into tears.

When her outraged father called the school, nervous officials told the child to make another tracing. She did so—but this time, instead of scrawling "Jesus Loves Me," she drew a tiny cross that was so small it was almost invisible.

Behind nearly every such incident you will find the ACLU. According to the New York Times, Peter Lewis, chairman of Progressive Insurance, believes in the mission and work of the ACLU so much that he gave them $8.5 million.

Chairman Lewis' gift helps the ACLU promote their anti-Christmas agenda such as:

bulletRemoving nativity scenes from public property

bulletBanning songs such as Silent Night from schools

bulletRefusing to allow students to write about the Christian aspect of Christmas in school projects

bulletRenaming Christmas break Winter break

bulletRefusing to allow a city sponsored Christmas parade to be called a Christmas parade

bulletNot allowing a Christmas tree in a public school

bulletRenaming a Christmas tree displayed on public property a Holiday tree

In addition to their war on Christmas, the ACLU uses gifts like that from Chairman Lewis to:

bulletSue states to force them to legalize homosexual marriage

bulletForce libraries to remove porn filters from their computers

bulletSue the Boy Scouts to force them to accept homosexuals as scout leaders

bulletHelp legalize child pornography

bulletLegalize live sex acts in bars in Oregon

bulletProtect the North American Man Boy Love Association whose motto is "sex by eight or it is too late"

bulletCensor student led prayer at graduation

bulletRemove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance

bulletRemove "In God We Trust" on our currency

RECOMMENDED ACTION: If you do not support his donation and have a Progressive Insurance policy, inform him that you have CANCELLED or ARE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING CANCELLATION. If you don't have a Progressive policy, let Chairman Lewis know that you DO NOT support his donation and that you WILL NOT buy his company's  insurance and will pass the word to others that are unaware of his donation that FULLY SUPPORTS THE ACLU AND ALL OF THEIR CAUSES.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Please forward this URL http://www.bandgm.org/removing.htm to your family and friends. The vast majority of them probably aren't aware of Chairman Lewis' funding gift to the ACLU.

SPECIAL ALERT! NBC to mock the Crucifixion of Christ
From Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association
-2/01/2006-

On the April 13 edition of NBC's Will and Grace, Britney Spears will appear as a Christian conservative sidekick to Sean Hayes' homosexual character, Jack, who hosts his own talk show.

Jack's fictional network, Out TV, is bought by a Christian TV network, leading to Spears contributing a cooking segment called "Cruci-fixin's."
To further denigrate Christianity, NBC chose to air it the night before Good Friday.

NBC does spin control following "Cruci-fixin's" gaff
From the Desk Of Douglas Mills-Media Research Center
-2/07/2006-

NBC is in full retreat mode after they let it slip that
one-time pop-tart Britney Spears would be making a guest
appearance on Will & Grace. Set to air the night before
Good Friday, the episode was to have featured Spears
co-hosting a cooking segment called "Cruci-fixins."

Numerous conservative groups angrily responded, saying
the episode mocks the crucifixion of Christ and further
denigrates Christianity.

NBC quickly released a statement saying the show would
not be aired and that they value their viewers--what
ones remain.
